Year-End Appeal Letter: Sample 9

Dear Friend,

God is training much-needed laborers at The University of Northern Iowa. We are excited! We have come to learn that many of our friends appreciate the chance to give at this time of year, so we wanted to tell you about an opportunity for you to help us reach students on campus—students like Mike.

Mike was invited by a friend to a Navigator event last spring. He said, “I enjoyed the authentic faith of the people I was meeting, and the ways I was growing as I learned more from God’s Word.” This fall I’ve been discipling Mike, helping him learn to spend regular time personally searching the Scriptures, and learning to share God’s Word with friends he has made in his dorm. It is so exciting to think how God will use Mike’s life as he continues to learn to “correctly handle the Word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

As 2012 comes to a close, we want to make sure our funding is in place for next year so we can help Mike and many others learn to know Christ and make Him known. Several friends like you already give generously with monthly or periodic gifts, which help a great deal. Thank you for your interest and partnership in reaching students at UNI, and for considering this opportunity as well.

Would you consider a special year-end gift to this ministry? Our goal is $9,500, which will launch us well into this coming year. To meet this goal, we’ll need gifts of $75, $100, $200, and even a few of $500 and $1,000 or more. We are grateful for however God leads you, and we want to say thank you for prayerfully considering this request.

We know what a difference this disciple-making ministry makes as we share our lives with students like Mike and examine the Scriptures together with them. Your investment helps “Mikes” discover the value of regular time with Jesus, and it helps develop new generations of young men and women devoted to Christ. Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” We are so excited to see Mike learn to labor for a lifetime. Thank you for partnering with us.

Your partners in the Gospel,

P.S. If you would like to give, please make your check payable to The Navigators and mail it with the enclosed card. You can also give online at under the Donate tab. If possible, may we hear from you by December 31?
